Community Acupuncture
South Island Acupuncture is excited to announce we will be running community acupuncture sessions at the Waitati Hall on Fridays from 10am-2pm.
This welcoming and friendly atmosphere is great for people interested in trying acupuncture for the first time.
The same ailments that can be treated in private clinic can also be treated in the community clinic, however we do not distribute herbal medicine in the community clinic at this time.
No appointments are necessary, and payment is by Koha, (gift or donation) making community acupuncture a great way to receive weekly treatments for more chronic conditions like lingering pain and insomnia.
Sessions are conducted with the patient seated in a comfortable position, and generally last for 20-30 minutes. Most patients feel a mild sensation during treatment, and often feel more relaxed and calm after treatment.
Treatment is on a first come first serve basis, and wait times are usually around 5-10 minutes. This wait time can be used to fill in paper work if it is your first time, or begin practicing Qi Gong or Tai Chi patterns if you know them. If you don’t, we would love to show you some after your session!
